What a year!

This time last year ( 2018 ) I was just finishing my 200 hours of Yoga Teacher Training with Yoga Renew. It was an incredible experience that opened many doors. My mission was to be able to bring more knowledge to my home practice but by the time I was certified I had a desire to share.

In January 2019 I rented a studio space and was offering public classes and private sessions. By summer I booked my first workshop which was such a fantastic experience called “Nourished by Nature”. I took a group of 11 students on a nature walk with the assistantance of an up coming herblist Autumn Willow. We walked the lush forests and talked about the many trees and plants that have multiple way to be used from medicine, tea’s and edible. Then continued to a white sandy beach, it was a stunning day, the sun was shining and the ocean was calm. Ending in Savanasa taking in the salty fresh air, it was such pleasure to share my passion for nature and yoga. “Movement and Plants is my thing”, I plan to do more workshops in the future!

This fall I have been taking advantage of the opportunity that I have a life time access to my online course and just finished reviewing the 200 hours. I believe we are constantly learning and there is so much to learn. I’m getting ready to embark my round of courses with Kristin Weber Science of Slow and The Yoga & Neuroscience Connection. I plan to take my 300 hrs in the future. It’s been such a pleasure to be able to share my yoga adventures, knowledge and inspire others to give yoga a try. Yoga Teacher Training

In 2018 I took the plunge and signed up for my 200 hrs Yoga Teacher Training. My goal was to have a fantastic home practice that I could sequence to my every day needs. As every day our bodies are different, our practice changes constantly and living rural on Cortes Island there was not always a yoga class available. I researched out many school from destination, in cities to online. That’s when I found http://www.yogarenewteachertraining.com The price was right, I could study at my own pace and have a life time access to the course that is constantly being up dated with more offerings Since receiving my certificate I have taught public classes, private sessions and a workshop. I have also had the opportunity to review the course again in prep to continue my yoga journey. I can not express how much I learned and then having access to review the information again is so valuable and you always can reference back to the course at anytime. If you or someone you know is interested in expanding their knowledge in yoga I strongly suggest checking out Yoga Renew the opportunities are endless and it’s a very supportive yoga family with lots of successful teachers, teaching in varies environments. Also offering 300 and 500 hours which helps to open many doors all from the comfort of your home. For more information please follow my link.

Get Outdoors

After a colder than usual winter, Spring is now in full effect! It is the perfect time to take your yoga practice Outdoors!

Being out in nature has a profound effect on our energy, it revitalizes us, helps us ground, and provides us with the feeling we had as a child every time we got out in nature – Running wild without a care in the world, the wind in our hair, listening to the sounds of birds, bugs and frogs all around, gazing up into the sky, soaking up the warmth of  the sun (along with some vitamin D!) – and it brings a whole new dimension to our personal practice, whether it’s a one-on-one session, a public class at sunset, or a simple mindful walk through the trails to the white sand beach to meditate. Being outdoors is natural but in this day and age, it’s has become harder to give ourself the time to get out there… but it’s worth it!

I just spent the month of April creating an outdoor studio nestled in the forest on our property, where I am now offering private sessions. A one-on-one approach to assist you reach your goals and create a plan that suits your needs and lifestyle. I am looking forward to sharing my new space with my friends, neighbours, clients, and visitors. For private sessions please email me to schedule a free half-hour consultation and see if we can be a good fit.

Of course, the beautiful space I created has also become a hub for many other meditative pursuits such as knitting, creating yarn on my spinning wheel, soaking up the sunshine, listening to nature, sharing a pot of tea and conversation.
